In October 2023, the AARP published results from their survey of caregivers and found that more than 60% of caregivers have increased levels of stress and worry. This article sheds light on the daily stressors and offers additional ways to manage anxiety and pressure.
Paula's son, Zachary, co-authored this study about caregivers. It shows one way that the health of caregivers can suffer. If a caregiver had to provide a higher level of support to their person (such as helping them with bathing), the caregiver was more likely to have a hospital stay for their own health concerns.
